Teaching Opportunity at Wellington College

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Economics to join our team at Wellington College. As a leading co-educational boarding and day school, we offer a unique and stimulating environment for our pupils to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Economics to students across the full age range from year 9 to year 13
  • Enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Department and wider College through sharing resources and good practice, lesson observation, collaborative teaching, mentoring, and active participation in continuing professional development
  • Play a role in the extra-curricular life of the Department, including contributing to off-timetable workshops, extension programs, pre-university seminars, competitions, etc.
  • Make a positive contribution to the efficient running of the Department, including setting and marking examinations, attending departmental meetings, and undertaking administrative and other tasks as delegated by the Head of Department
Requirements
  • Good level degree in Economics or a related subject or a suitable Post Graduate qualification
  • 3 A-Levels, IB, or equivalent
  • Thorough knowledge of the material covered in the Curriculum of Economics
  • Desirable: Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, or equivalent experience; Teaching experience at A/IB level; Awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice within a boarding school setting; Involvement in extra-curricular activities
