Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Teaching Assistant for SEN students, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional needs of children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of daily lessons and educational activities designed to meet the individual needs of SEN students.
  • Support the assessment of student progress and contribute to the preparation of individual learning plans.
  • Facilitate social integration and participation in school activities.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students requiring additional assistance with school tasks.
  • Assist with the management of classroom behaviour, maintaining a calm and safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to promote student welfare.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your own understanding of SEN best practices.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the educational and emotional needs of children with diverse learning disabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive, compassionate, and patient approach with the ability to engage children positively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning in the field of special education.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check.
