Join Our Team as a Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Wessex Water. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of our major projects, from initial inception to final settlement of accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all pre and post-contract duties for major projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Oversee contract change, opportunity, and risk management, as well as payment applications and final accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, engineers, and estimators to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Work to financial targets and deadlines, interpreting project programs and understanding risk to ensure the best value for the company.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience delivering key infrastructure schemes, preferably in the water industry or a similar environment.
  • Quantity surveying experience in the construction industry, preferably with experience in the NEC Suite of Contracts.
  • Completed a degree in quantity surveying or a similar construction-related qualification.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, problem-solving skills, and a drive to succeed.
  • Ability to interpret technical/design details to assist in problem-solving and valuing engineering options.
  • Experience with change and risk management, as well as tender and final account negotiation skills.
  • Good people skills, including leadership skills and the ability to foster professional relations with others.
  • Strong customer focus, while also being a team player.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety related to the role.
