We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our Medical HSEP team at Barnet Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and participating in daily operational activities, management, planning, implementation, and direction of the Medical HSEP team.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, current HCPC registration, and a commitment to lifelong learning. They will also have extensive experience working in in-patient Medical HSEP and Frailty, as well as experience in audit, coaching, supervising, and teaching staff.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently as an autonomous practitioner, lead and motivate themselves and the team, and demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning skills and management of complex cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership to the Medical HSEP team
- Participate in daily operational activities, management, planning, implementation, and direction of the Medical HSEP team
- Provide professional support to qualified staff, students, and support staff
- Be involved in the strategic planning and policy development for the Medical HSEP service
- Deputise for the Clinical Lead where necessary
Requirements:
- Post registration experience in in-patient Medical HSEP and Frailty
- Extensive experience working in an acute healthcare setting and complex discharge planning
- Experience in audit, coaching, supervising, and teaching staff
- Leadership and first-line management experience
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to a range of audiences
- Ability to relate clinical knowledge to practice
- Able to work independently as an autonomous practitioner
- Ability to work as part of a team, including MDT
- Good organisational skills
- Reflect and critically approve own performance
- Ability to lead and motivate self and team
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise case load and managerial tasks
- Ability to laterally think and problem solve
- Ability to apply appraisal, teaching, and supervision skills
- Highly specialist knowledge of current therapy in relevant area
- Awareness of current health issues
- Able to maintain judgment and make decisions under pressure
- Excellent presentation and training skills
- Clear vision of role/commitment to specialty
