Job Title: Dispensary and Medicines Management Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dispensary and Medicines Management Technician to join our Pharmacy department at The London Clinic. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medicines to our patients.

About the Role

This is a rotational post that will involve working across all sites at The London Clinic, including the Main Site Dispensary, Duchess of Devonshire (DDW) Cancer Services Dispensary, and MMT services. You will be responsible for ensuring that the Dispensary, MMT, and Ward services are delivered in a safe, effective, economic, and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Medicine Management duties in allocated wards, including assessing patients' own drugs, drug history taking, near-patient dispensing, discharge facilitation, and ordering of inpatient and one-stop medicines.
  • Assist ward pharmacists and NMPs by providing advanced medicine optimisation and clinical prioritisation.
  • Participate in the provision of a safe, efficient, and accurate dispensing service to all pharmacy users, including the dispensing of controlled drugs and oral chemotherapy.
  • Support and direct the workflow of all dispensary staff, ensuring SOPs are followed and standards are maintained.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Medicines Management and ward pharmacy services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
