We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. as we work closely with a Local Authority in Sefton to assist with the appointment of a Technical Officer on a 12-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- To maintain and review an up-to-date Register of Preferred Contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- To administer contracts for works, instructing contractors and monitoring the quality of workmanship to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- To assist and contribute towards the development of a Private Service, leveraging expertise in building construction and surveying to drive business growth.
- To maintain accurate and detailed records, including inputting data on IT systems, to update case files, inform colleagues and managers on progress, and ensure seamless communication.
- To assist in the review and updating of standard schedules of work and costings, with a focus on implementing sustainable development and low-cost maintenance of housing.
Requirements:
- Qualified to at least HND/HNC level in Building Construction and/or Surveying, or equivalent.
- E.C.D.L. or equivalent computer qualification.
- Experience working in an environment providing a service to the public, with a strong understanding of customer care issues.
- Experience working with clients, internal departments, and external agencies.
- Experience working in an office/team environment and effectively as part of a small team.
- Experience working under pressure to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Considerable experience in the application of housing renewal legislation, including the supervision of building works and contractors, with the ability to maximize income and minimize costs.
