Job Title: Unqualified English Teacher / English HLTA

Future Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Unqualified English Teacher / English HLTA to join our team at a thriving SEMH School located in the London Borough of Bromley.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Unqualified English Teacher / English HLTA who can deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) to GCSE. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of SEMH, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and challenging behaviour, and will be able to plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the individual needs of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver English lessons to students in KS3 to GCSE, using a range of teaching methods to engage and motivate students.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH and ASD, using positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, working closely with teaching assistants and other support staff.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and reports to students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support students' educational and emotional needs.
Requirements
  • Experience teaching in either a HLTA or Unqualified Teacher role, with a strong understanding of SEMH, ASD, and challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to de-escalate challenging behaviours in a non-judgemental way.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • DBS check on the update service, or ability to pay for a new one ASAP.
  • Reside within commutable distance to the London Borough of Bromley.
