Senior Electronics Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Engineer to join our team at Mane Contract Services. As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust electronics solutions that meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in circuit design, components, and PCB technology, with a focus on EMC, Power Management, Servo Control, processor interfacing, and communications.
  • Develop and implement power and signal transmission solutions over wired mediums, including power management, system wiring, and production processes.
  • Lead projects and set standards for good engineering practice, serving as an expert in your field and driving innovation within the department.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management, customers, and stakeholders, maintaining a focus on tactical and strategic oversight of projects, technology, and team development.
  • Develop and enhance technology within the business, providing subject matter expertise for technology areas and applying these to R&D development activities or projects.
  • Provide technical leadership for multi-disciplined projects, fostering a culture of systematic approach and delivering solutions to customers.
  • Contribute to resource planning for engineers working under you and support line management responsibilities for a smaller sub-team, overseeing training and development needs.

Requirements:

  • Degree: Accredited by the IET in a related discipline.
  • Experience: Typically 6 years relevant experience.
  • Chartership: Chartered Engineer or working towards it.

Technical Skills:

  • Electrical/Electronics Design: Strong theoretical and practical understanding.
  • Analysis: Proficient in circuit emulation, performance, and power budgets.
  • Fault Finding: Skilled in investigating and resolving PCB/system level issues.

Project Management:

  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading or supervising projects and teams.
  • Lifecycle Awareness: Knowledgeable about the full project lifecycle.

Specialized Expertise:

  • Embedded Software: Experience with ARM/KEIL.
  • EMC Standards: Military standards compliance and issue resolution.
  • Motors/Drives: Ability to calculate motor performance.
  • Control Systems: Understanding of control systems analysis and performance.

Tools and Methods:

  • Simulation Tools: Python, Matlab, Simulink, LT-Spice, Simetrix.
  • Management Tools: JIRA, Confluence, MS Project.
  • PCB Design: Altium, Cadence OrCAD.
  • Resilience Techniques: Familiar with FMEA.
  • Environmental Design: Experience with harsh military environments and lightning effects.

Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to gain UK government security clearance. To achieve this, you must hold British or dual nationality.
