**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Design Specialist to join our team at Smart Surgical Appliances. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative medical devices that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical or biomedical engineering, with a minimum of 2 years experience in medical device design. You will work closely with our cross-functional team to develop new products and iterate existing ones, ensuring that they meet the needs of our customers and the regulatory requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Design and develop medical devices that meet customer needs and regulatory requirements*

* Collaborate with the R&D team to develop new products and iterate existing ones*

* Conduct feasibility studies and prototype development*

* Prepare and maintain technical documentation*

* Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth production processes*

**Requirements**

* First or upper second class degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering*

* Minimum 2 years experience in medical device design*

* Excellent CAD/CAM skills (SolidWorks preferred)*

* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and constraints*

* Experience designing moulded components, ideally including basic mould flow analysis*

* Excellent presentation and communication skills*

* Ability to self-motivate and prioritize tasks effectively*

* Salary: £65,000 (gross)
