We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Independence Support Worker to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As an Independence Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting patients to achieve their maximum potential and independence.
Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Responsibilities: Assist qualified therapists and nurses in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients to maximize their potential and reduce the risk of deconditioning.
- Reablement and Rehabilitation: Carry out treatment programs and facilitate independence with personal activities of daily living (ADLs) on the ward to simulate a typical functional day for patients.
- Communication and Teamwork: Use a wide range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients, including those with difficulties in understanding or communicating.
- Organizational and Managerial: Plan and prioritize daily activities, respond to changing circumstances, and delegate tasks to therapy and nursing assistants as needed.
- Essential Criteria: Education to GCSE standard or equivalent, experience of establishing working relationships with people, and ability to work in a team.
- Desirable Criteria: NVQ level 3 or equivalent, Care Certificate, experience as a therapy assistant/HCA, and experience in health/social/care settings.
