Job Title: Network Automation Architect

We are seeking an experienced Network Automation Architect to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing network automation frameworks that accelerate network development and deployment.

Your primary focus will be on establishing a network automation framework that aligns with our network and security policies. You will collaborate with hardware vendors and leverage open-source tools to ensure the automation designs and processes are compliant and unhindered.

This is a hybrid position based in a major city, with the need to be in the office 3 days a week at the beginning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with the network architecture team and vendors to understand the requirements for automation
  • Architect and drive the automation framework forward, working with the security team to ensure development practices are compliant and unhindered
  • Automate a network using zero-touch provisioning and bootstrapping techniques
  • Help model the various data structures and their relationships as well as actors and interfaces
  • Internal project marketing (updates to promote automation and mindset)
  • High-level platform principles
  • Define SSoT (Single Source of Truth), secret management solution, Version Control Systems and Git workflow
Requirements:
  • Excellent knowledge and practical experience of network automation and testing tooling like Nornir, NAPALM, Batfish and Netbox
  • Proven history in dynamically verifying network state compliance with known state and update as deployments occur
  • Good understanding of secure development practices
  • Excellent Object-Oriented Programming (Python, potentially GO)
  • Very strong understanding of Git and Git workflows as well as CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of IaC and state-based automation such as Terraform
  • Previous experience automating a highly scalable network
  • Demonstrable examples of previous automation work
