Job Title: Administrator and Health Care Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our Pre-operative Assessment Team at St Richards Hospital.

The successful candidate will be required to work between 2 units, Emer and Pagham Suite, based in St Richards Hospital, delivering a high-quality service to patients attending the pre-operative assessment unit (outpatient setting).

Main Responsibilities
  1. Support the Pre-Operative Assessment of patients to a high standard, ensuring patients are individually managed case by case and prepared for elective surgery in a safe and timely manner.
  2. Provide high-quality evidence-based clinical care and clear communication to patients, in line with the Trust Values and in accordance with professional regulations.
  3. Act as a role model, communicating in line with the Trust Values, to patients, carers, and staff at all times.
  4. Accept delegated responsibility for specific activities/areas for the senior nurse in charge, recognizing and working within the limits of your competence.
  5. Maintain and develop your own practice.
  6. Liaise with other clinical areas as necessary for the coordination of patient care and the smooth running of the ward/unit/department.
  7. Participate in the safety and improvement huddles within the department.
  8. Demonstrate a high degree of motivation and innovation.
Requirements
  • Suitable work/life experience (transferable skills).
  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues in the healthcare setting.
  • Experience working in a healthcare role.
  • Basic computer skills.
