About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Kitchen Steward to join our Catering Services team at the House of Commons. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Chief Stewards in all stewarding related matters in the Back of House areas concerning food and beverage equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Assistant Chief Stewards in maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in the Back of House areas.
  • Ensure that all Departmental Food, Health and Safety Policies are always met.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our customers, responding quickly to their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues to achieve our goals.
  • Undertake regular manual handling tasks as part of the daily work routine.

Requirements

  • Foundation Food Safety qualification (or equivalent).
  • Relevant kitchen experience working in a similar position, with a good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond quickly to customer needs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to undertake regular manual handling tasks as part of the daily work routine.
