As a key member of the Wincanton Group Transport team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our commercial haulier operations. Reporting directly to the Group Head of Planning, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive subcontract strategy that aligns with the company's business direction and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with hauliers to ensure seamless integration into our transport community
  • Onboarding hauliers to new technologies and digital marketplaces to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Contracting lanes and managing external subcontract performance to optimize coverage and payment processes
  • Leading the development of a transport community that aligns with the company's strategic objectives
  • Fully accountable for haulier delivery performance, compliance, and health & safety management

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels. A full UK driving licence and ability to travel are essential, with a minimum of 30% travel required.
