About the Service

Cardiff Parenting & Play Services is a strategically led service by a Principal Educational Psychologist.

The service provides psychology-led parenting services, recognized by the Parent-Infant Foundation as a Specialized Parent-Infant Relationship team.

The team works with parents who are pregnant or have an infant or child in the early years, providing targeted and specialized bespoke work.

The interventions are co-formulated and clinically supervised by the educational psychologists.

The psychologists also provide consultation and training to the team and the wider organization.

We have office bases across Cardiff and equipment for remote work.

About the Job

As the Clinical Lead and Manager, the Senior Educational Psychologist will be responsible for:

  • Managing and leading an early years psychology-informed parenting service.
  • Training staff, supervising, monitoring, and evaluating interventions.
  • Contributing to evidence-based delivery through research and training for Early Help.
  • Improving outcomes for early years infants and children by promoting parent confidence and capacity.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing local and national parenting policies and procedures.

Salary: B - B + opportunity to gain up to SPA (£ - £ (up to £))

We are looking for a suitably qualified and HCPC registered educational psychologist with:

  • Detailed knowledge of psychological theory and experience applying theory to casework.
  • A portfolio of recent relevant continuing professional development.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Experience of direct work with parents.
