Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and delivering a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum for students, with a focus on science education. They will also support the development of the curriculum area and contribute to the overall progress and development of students.

The role will involve:

  • Developing and delivering high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all students
  • Assessing student progress and providing feedback to students and parents
  • Contributing to the development of the curriculum area and implementing changes as needed
  • Supporting the pastoral system and acting as a form tutor for a selected group of students
  • Communicating with students, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment
Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree. They will have successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11-18 school.

They will also have:

  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4
  • Experience of writing lesson plans, developing resources, and assessing student work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work as part of a team and develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff
