Substation Power Systems Specialist

We're investing in the next generation of engineers to shape a cleaner, greener energy future. Our three-year Higher Apprenticeship Substations program will train you to become an engineer in our substations.

You'll learn about testing equipment, safety protocols, system protection and control, substation refurbishment, maintenance, technical support, problem diagnosis, and fault fixing. By the end of the programme, you'll hold a Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Electrical power protection and plant commissioning.

As a flexible multitasker, you can handle multiple responsibilities while paying great attention to detail. Academic brilliance isn't the only thing we're looking for; we want people who are passionate about engineering and committed to their development.

The estimated salary for this role is £29,819 per annum. We offer a range of benefits, including:

Assessment centres will be held between January - April 2025. The role is based in East Kent, with locations in Ashford, Sandwich, and Canterbury.
