Job Summary

The Fife Council is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join their team as an Apprentice Estate Worker. This role is part of the Workforce Youth Investment programme, which aims to create employment and training opportunities for young people in Fife.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the team with a wide variety of tasks to maintain and manage the park for the benefit of people and wildlife.
  • Carry out path maintenance, litter picking, and management of different habitats, including woodland, grassland, wetland, and facilities for public access and recreation.
  • Work under supervision to provide general maintenance duties in line with the country park's aims and ethos.
  • Undertake training and work towards an SVQ2 in Environmental Conservation.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 National 4s, to include English and Maths, or Intermediate 1's, to include English and Maths, or equivalent Core Skills at SCQF Level 4.
  • A passion for working in the outdoors and the ability to carry out work of a repetitive nature while maintaining quality.
  • An interest and passion in the environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to transfer these in different circumstances.
  • A good team player with the ability to work alone and unsupervised at times.
