Facilities Manager and Capital Projects Lead

We are partnering with a local authority in the London borough of Bexley to find a suitable candidate for a 13-month contract, which may be extended at the client's discretion.

**Salary:** £500 - £659 per day

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to provide strategic direction and oversight of FM operations, ensuring that facilities management activities are regularly reviewed and aligned with contract management and procurement arrangements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective arrangements for facilities management across all premises occupied by the council, its staff, or partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing the strategic overview of FM operations and reviewing facilities management activities regularly.
  • Providing strategic direction and leading the planning, development, implementation, monitoring, and review of the council's corporate health and safety strategy and policies.
  • Developing and implementing effective arrangements for facilities management across all premises occupied by the council.
  • Presenting timely, robust, and relevant information and advice to members and officers in relation to the council's property and land assets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Chartered Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (CIWFM) or similar professional accreditation.
  • Significant experience working in local or central government or another major public sector organization.
  • Experience of working directly with senior officers and members across the council and external partners.
