Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Trommel Checker to join our team at a waste recycling company based in Little Hulton, M38. As a Trommel Checker, you will be responsible for:

  • Checking trommel (fixed plant) outdoors, working in all elements and environments.
  • Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance to the trommel (fixed plant) under the instruction and supervision of the Welders.
  • Working as part of a team and having good communication skills.
  • Having an understanding of industry safety standards and being safety conscious.
  • Having good observational skills and being able to work quickly.
  • Being physically fit for the role, with periods of longstanding and a lot of walking, with few breaks.
  • Having good English or Polish communication skills, so you can clearly converse over a two-way radio.
  • Having an interest in being mechanically minded, but no formal qualification is required.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience or knowledge of the waste industry is desirable.
  • You must be hardworking, reliable, and flexible.
  • You must be able to work as part of a team and have good communication skills.
  • You must have an understanding of industry safety standards (safety conscious).
  • You must have good observational skills and be able to work quickly.
  • You must be physically fit for the role.
  • You must have good English or Polish communication skills.
  • You must have an interest in being mechanically minded.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive hourly rate of £11.44.
  • A 5-day week, with 4 days in the week and Saturday, 8am-8:30pm.
