Catalyst is seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax and VAT Specialist to join our talented Tax team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing indirect taxes, including VAT compliance, risk assessments, and customs duty-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage VAT compliance processes and reporting for multiple VAT registrations, ensuring accurate and timely filing of VAT returns and payments.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies related to VAT, including developing and maintaining processes and internal controls to support VAT compliance.
- Collaborate with business divisions and cross-functional teams to ensure VAT is correctly accounted for on all transactions.
- Prepare, review, and submit Intrastat returns.
- Provide expertise and support for customs duty-related issues, such as origin determination, valuation of goods, and tariff classification.
- Manage relationships with HMRC in relation to all indirect tax issues, including inquiries and audits.
- Provide training and guidance to the business on all indirect tax matters, ensuring awareness and understanding of obligations in this area.
- Strong experience in a relevant Tax Specialist, Tax Associate, Tax Accountant, VAT Specialist, or similar role from industry, practice, or HMRC.
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent accountant/tax professional.
- Experience of UK VAT compliance, with experience of dealing with Customs issues beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Salary £55,000 + bonus + car scheme + pension + excellent benefits.
- Management training to enhance career development.
- Hybrid working (2-3 office days per week).
