About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Devonport Royal Dockyard. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a critical role in the maintenance and upkeep of the Royal Navy's fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and align new mechanical equipment, ensuring precise positioning and optimal performance
  • Work from technical specifications and engineering drawings, requiring attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Conduct functional tests and surveys to verify system performance
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement efficient solutions

Requirements

  • Experience in marine engineering, particularly on Royal Navy ships, submarines, or large commercial vessels
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Operating workshop machinery specific to mechanical fitting
  • Demonstrable experience in removing, installing, and overhauling marine mechanical equipment

Security Clearance
