Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Transport customers' freight as assigned by the Transport Office
  • Carry out multi-drop deliveries and collections
  • Monitor and ensure proper loading of vehicles to prevent damage
  • Verify that the correct goods and quantities are loaded and unloaded
  • Optimize daily routes for efficient transportation and cost savings
  • Present and return customers' delivery notes accurately
  • Securely handle and return proof of delivery advice notes
  • Notify the Transport Office of any delays or issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle at all times
  • Refuel the vehicle daily

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Class 2 (C) driving licence
  • Be in possession of a valid Driver CPC
  • Have a tacho card
  • Desirable: prior experience with HGV Class 2 driving
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, including drivers' hours and working time directives
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Compensation Package:

This position offers a competitive annual salary of approximately £35,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience, plus an attractive bonus scheme. Additional benefits include 25 days annual leave, a contributory pension plan, company-provided uniform and PPE, and ongoing training opportunities.
