Production Director

We are looking for a highly experienced Production Director to lead our engineering team at Elis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and management, with a proven ability to motivate and inspire teams to deliver exceptional results.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future direction of our business and driving strategic growth initiatives.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the engineering team to achieve functional objectives
• Work closely with the production team to improve site overall equipment effectiveness
• Develop and manage all engineering functions
• Ensure compliance with company vision, values, and policies, national legislative requirements, and safety regulations
• Plan, monitor, and ensure appropriate engineering team safety training
• Ensure PPM schedule is adhered to
• Provide training to engineers and operators on new machinery
• Undertake and agree functional budgets
• Investigate and resolve any variances
• Review all functional activities, develop, propose, and implement improvements to ensure continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Knowledge of ISO 9001, 13485, LSAS & MDD93/42/EEC
• PC-based planned preventative maintenance systems
• Excellent organisation skills
• Ability to quickly learn technical terminology and processes
• Leadership skills
• Financial knowledge covering trading statements
• Good analytical and decision-making skills
• Communication skills (written and verbal)

Desirable:

• Experience in lean (Six Sigma) implementation of lean manufacturing systems
• Excellent communicator with first-hand direct people management experience

Education/Experience:

• Educated to HNC level Engineering qualification or equivalent
• Time served as an apprentice with experience of electrical/mechanical/steam operations
