Job Overview

**About the Role**

The Database Administrator will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the databases within the Marsh estate. This includes day-to-day administration, troubleshooting, and applying scripts to test and production environments.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Develop and maintain database/data documentation, including DB schema's, configurations, standards, and procedures.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in database and data methodology, recommending innovative solutions to enhance and improve data offerings.
  • Assist with design and changes of the Data Warehouse.
  • Assist with in-house and 3rd party application enhancements and implementations.
  • Be aware of the Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery plans and actively participate in recovery, improvements, and tests.

**Essential Skills**

  • Proven and demonstrable experience working as an Oracle DBA.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular working hours for implementations and upgrades.
  • Pro-active and able to look ahead for potential problems within the database and take preventative or mitigating actions in advance.
  • Experience of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure – ADB/DBCS.

**Desirable Skills**

  • Experience administrating SQL Server.
  • ITIL4 certification.
  • Oracle Data Safe experience.
