An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and visionary History teacher to take on the role of Head of History at Dunbar Education, driving academic excellence and student success.

About the Role

This leadership position involves overseeing the History department, developing and implementing engaging curricula, and mentoring History teachers to achieve exceptional results.

Salary Information

The remuneration package includes MPS/UPS scale and additional TLR for the Head of History role, totaling approximately £59,000 - £67,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver History curricula that inspire and engage students.
  • Lead and manage History teachers, promoting high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to the school's strategic vision, ensuring History plays a vital role in students' academic journeys.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of History pedagogy and its application in the classroom.
Essential Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced History teacher who:

  • Posesses a degree in History or a related field.
  • Is QTS or equivalent qualified.
  • Has a proven track record of teaching and leading in a secondary setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
