We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to join our antimicrobial team and contribute to the Trust's focus on effective and appropriate use of antimicrobials.

This challenging role will involve engaging with clinicians, Consultant Microbiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-focused advice on drug treatments and influence antimicrobial prescribing and usage. As part of the team, you will assist in the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of anti-microbial policies and procedures.

You will be responsible for promoting judicious use and monitoring of antimicrobials through regular clinical pharmacy services to acute wards, as well as mentoring junior colleagues. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be task-driven, and able to prioritise work effectively.

The salary for this position is £55,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a key member of our team, you will have opportunities for professional development and contribute to improving patient outcomes.

Main duties of the job include:

  • To promote safe, responsible, and cost-effective prescribing and use of antimicrobials to optimise clinical outcomes and minimise adverse reactions and errors.
  • To assist the medicines management team in managing and developing the Trust formulary and appropriate medicine usage, focusing particularly on antimicrobial usage.
  • To provide a comprehensive and efficient pharmaceutical service in accordance with required standards of quality and professional practice.
