Barbara Houghton Associates is seeking an experienced Strategic Loan Portfolio Manager to join their team. This role offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum.

In this challenging position, you will be responsible for managing the loan middle office client manager team. You will act as a subject matter expert for the loans portfolio handled as agent and lender, ensuring that facilities under your control and management are maintained accurately within the systems and controls available.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate procedure manuals that reflect real-day-to-day operations and market practices.
  • Facilitate well-structured training and adequate supervision to ensure staff are informed with necessary tools and oversight to perform their roles effectively.
  • Monitor triggers throughout the loan lifecycle via the system/diary notes to ensure timely servicing of loans.
  • Support front offices on new product development and deal servicing.
  • C coordinate across operations to ensure timely deal processing.
  • Act as escalation point for direct team and wider LMO team.
  • Utilize expert knowledge of products and markets to manage syndicated loan facilities portfolios assigned to this role.
  • Provide guidance and direction to less experienced LMO staff to assist with duty completion.
  • Verify and validate transactions created by other LMO staff to ensure precise and correct instructions are delivered to appropriate processing areas.
  • O oversee creation or direction of control tools necessary to administer client facilities where Bank's systems are considered inappropriate.
  • Continually review and challenge processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and allow highest possible facility usage.
  • Ensure creation and flow of information is accurate and timely to enable management and stakeholders to act appropriately.
  • Work with Head of LMO to achieve short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals of the team.
  • Chair monthly service meetings with each FO sector reviewing pipeline, volumes, capacity, and prioritization queues.
  • Work autonomously to resolve operational issues as they arise and implement preventative measures to avoid reoccurrence of incidents.
  • Operate as product specialist providing subject matter expertise where required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Considerable operational experience of loan products.
  • Operational and administrative knowledge of loan market.
  • Experience in reviewing loan agreements.
  • Bilingual proficiency in standard practices relative to loan products administered within loan markets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel).
