Optical Department Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Optical Manager to lead our team of Optometrists and Optical assistants in delivering high-quality patient service.
As an Optical Manager at Asda Stores Ltd, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation, including managing compliance processes and procedures, reviewing sales forecasting and department targets, and dealing with customer queries.
You will work in close partnership with an Optometrist to coach and develop your team, ensuring they have everything they need to deliver excellent service and clinical care.
With access to the wider Asda network, you will be supported by our Home Office teams who can offer clinical support and a team of Area Manager's who will work alongside you to get the most out of your role every day.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Optometrists and Optical assistants to deliver high-quality patient service
- Oversee compliance processes and procedures to ensure the team is operating within regulatory requirements
- Review sales forecasting and department targets to drive business growth
- Deal with customer queries and provide excellent customer service
- Work in close partnership with an Optometrist to coach and develop your team
- Manage the shop floor process to ensure the department is well-equipped for customer needs
Requirements
- Fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the GOC
- On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
- Confident in coaching others to develop their skills and knowledge
- Able to provide excellent customer and patient care
- Driven and ambitious to ensure the department meets its targets
- Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced Optics environment
- Organised and able to manage your time effectively
