Sims Limited is a global leader in metal recycling, committed to the circular economy and environmental sustainability. We are seeking a skilled individual to assist in the daily operational aspects of our site, ensuring efficient running and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain throughput and availability of production
- Ensure the day-to-day running of the plant in a safe and efficient manner
- General housekeeping of the plant, including sweeping and shovelling
- Ensure material produced meets specifications as directed by the supervisor
- Inform the supervisor or maintenance immediately of any breakdowns to avoid downtime
- Operational use of mobile plant duties when required
- Assist with banksman duties when required
- Comply with all isolation procedures and wear correct PPE
- Perform other duties as required by the company
Key Skills/Competencies:
- Exceptional organisational skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable
- Integrity and confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work on own initiative as well as a team player
- A strong safe working ethos
- Loading shovel licence, 360 grab licence and forklift truck licence advantageous
- Previous experience in medium or heavy industry desirable
- Previous experience in waste or metals recycling sector desirable
