In this role, you will be accountable for leading, driving, and growing Thalia's Trade Waste Business on the Island. You will be at the forefront of business development, pushing boundaries, and setting new benchmarks in the trade waste industry.
Key Responsibilities- Drive Business Growth: Actively identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities to expand our Trade Waste business.
- Develop Strategies: Implement operational management strategies that align with business growth and Thalia's long-term objectives.
- Lead Operations Teams: Lead the Trade Waste Operations Teams with a strong focus on sales maximisation and business development.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure that operations are compliant with relevant legislation and align with Thalia's commitment to environmental stewardship and innovative waste solutions.
- Manage Budget: Manage operational budget and resources, focusing on cost-effective strategies that support business growth.
- Set KPIs: Set and monitor key performance indicators related to sales and operational efficiency, ensuring that targets are met and exceeded.
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership: Work with the Senior Leadership Team to establish and maintain appropriate systems via the Company's Integrated Management System to enable effective measurement and reporting of operational issues, opportunities, and achievements.
- Build Connections: Build a strong network of connections with trade waste customers, brokers, and waste processing off-takers.
- Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with our Account Leaders, HSEQ, Finance, and Commercial teams to drive business growth and development.
- Proven Track Record: A proven track record in waste management or a similar sector, with a flair for business development and sales.
- Technical Skills: Strong skills with MS Office and Microsoft Project.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster a positive work culture, and lead by example in driving organisational goals and objectives.
- Strategic Thinking: Capacity to think strategically, identify opportunities for business growth and improvement, and develop and implement long-term plans and strategies.
- Decision Making: Sound judgement and decisiveness in making complex business decisions, considering risks, opportunities, and stakeholder interests.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs and expectations, delivering exceptional service, and building strong client relationships.
- Integrity: High ethical standards, honesty, and integrity in all business dealings, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements and maintaining trust and credibility with stakeholders.
At Thalia Waste Management, we are creating a future to be proud of. We think differently, questioning everything, enabling us to develop progressive waste into energy solutions and services. Our technology includes everything from mechanical and biological treatment, traditional mass-burn energy from waste and material recycling technologies to in-vessel composting, advanced thermal treatment, innovative small-scale energy from waste and anaerobic digestion. In a single year we process 300,000 tonnes of waste that is turned into energy. Similarly, we recycle circa 95,000 tonnes of waste.
