Pharmacy Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Pharmacy Stores team in the Pharmacy Department at York Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, processing, and delivering medicines and IV fluids to wards.
Main Responsibilities
This role involves working in a busy pharmacy store, where the post holder will be required to check, receive, and store medicines. Ensuring that medicines are stored appropriately and securely both in pharmacy and on wards is crucial to this role. The post holder will also undertake various housekeeping duties, including dealing with queries, checking, and filing documents, processing waste and excess medicines, and other duties supporting the efficient and safe operation of the pharmacy department.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have basic key skills, preferably gained through secondary education. Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent, with Maths and English at C (grade 4) or above, is desirable. Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare environment is also desirable. The post holder will be required to use a range of computer programmes relevant to the post and have good communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and the ability to handle moderate loads are also essential.
