We're currently seeking an experienced Head Office Accountant to lead our accounting function at Charterhouse. This critical role requires strong leadership and technical skills to ensure financial integrity and provide strategic insight into our financial performance.
About the RoleWe need an accomplished accountant to lead our group reporting team, delivering month end reporting to the Board and external investors with speed and accuracy. Responsibilities include reporting on central cost departments, delivering relevant insights, and assisting with other reporting requirements such as audit, accounts preparation, and taxation.
You'll be expected to develop innovative solutions to improve internal processes and controls, enhancing the reputation of the finance department. Our hybrid work environment promotes flexibility and collaboration, allowing you to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
  • Liaise with stakeholders to deliver accurate month end reports.
  • Collaborate with the team to formulate budgets and forecasts.
  • Develop and implement systems and controls improvements across the Group.
  • Ensure timely submission of Group VAT returns and assist with wider Group tax compliance.
  • Manage the Group payroll process and reporting.
  • Support the annual audit and accounts prep process.
  • Drive business growth by identifying areas for improvement.
  • Lead technical accounting queries and address any issues promptly.
  • Deliver weekly cash flow forecasts to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Chartered accountant with excellent technical knowledge.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Proactive self-starter with a 'can do' attitude and a history of achievement.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate with the team to achieve business objectives.
  • Pride in their work and commitment to delivering high-quality outputs.
  • Able to simplify complex problems and identify key solutions.
