Job Title: Caretaker

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Caretaker to join a supportive Primary School in Wakefield. As a Caretaker, you will be instrumental in managing the school's security and maintenance, handling various handyperson tasks, and ensuring the facilities are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of school facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations through regular inspections and implement necessary measures to safeguard students, staff, and visitors.
  • Manage the site budget efficiently, seeking cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality.
  • Lead and motivate the facilities team, providing guidance to ensure tasks are completed effectively and on schedule.
  • Coordinate with staff, administrators, and external contractors to address maintenance issues and manage projects.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in facilities management or a related field.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
