Working as a Dental Nurse

A dental nurse works alongside the dentist, assisting with various NHS and private procedures to ensure the best patient care and experience.

As a trainee dental nurse, you will work in a supportive environment where we value teamwork, professionalism, and ownership. This includes:

  • Providing chairside support and ensuring equipment and materials are available
  • Supporting a wide range of patients
  • Following health and safety, and infection control procedures
  • Keeping clinical areas and equipment clean and disinfected
  • Accurately completing patient records
  • Completing daily, weekly, and monthly logs and checks

Support for Trainee Nurses

Rodericks Dental Partners will support trainee nurses who have already signed up to or are working towards a dental nursing qualification. We can also assist in finding a course provider for those who have not yet begun a course.

The National Diploma in Dental Nursing (level 3) qualification includes:

  • On-the-job training
  • Online learning
  • Face-to-face training sessions
  • Completion of a record of experience
  • Written and practical exams
