Sourcing Specialist Intern

Sourcing and procurement professionals play a critical role in ensuring that companies like SLB have access to the necessary resources to drive innovation and growth. As a Sourcing Specialist Intern, you will be responsible for implementing sourcing plans and tactics to effectively manage sourcing activities related to your assigned project portfolio. Key responsibilities include providing sourcing and procurement support, ensuring parts are sourced in a cost-effective and timely manner from suitable vendors, and working with project teams to meet critical project timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Implements sourcing plans/tactics to effectively manage sourcing activities related to his/her assigned project portfolio.
- Provides sourcing and procurement support, ensuring parts are sourced in a cost-effective and timely manner from suitable vendors.
- Works with assigned project teams to meet critical project timelines, prioritizing work and communicating progress in cadence reviews/through tracking mechanisms.
- Defines part & assembly parameters for systematic Purchase Order release.
- Assesses supplier capabilities and makes recommendations for new supplier onboarding.
- Understands strategies for assigned commodities & proactively drives initiatives to meet departmental objectives.
- Bachelor Degree in Procurement/Sourcing/Manufacturing/Operations/Business economics or a related discipline.
- Process and quality improvement driven.
- Experience with data management and control principles.
- Proficient in MS Office apps, SAP (favourable) or other ERP system.
- Negotiation and decision-making skills.
