Located in the picturesque countryside of the Kent Weald, near Sevenoaks, Cygnet Hospital Godden Green offers a unique opportunity for an exceptional Specialty Doctor to shape services and make a meaningful impact in psychiatry.

We are seeking an experienced mental health professional to join our multidisciplinary team at Oakwood & Upper Oakwood wards, providing specialist Acute and PICU services for women. This role will enable you to develop your skills and knowledge while being fully supported by a Consultant Psychiatrist and first-class colleagues.

About the Role:

  • Provide high-quality treatment under the direction of a Consultant Psychiatrist
  • Attend Care Programme Approach & Section 117 meetings & mental health review tribunals
  • Ensure that medical decisions are implemented as planned
  • Audit medical services & ensure compliance with GMC & other professional guidelines
  • Uphold policies & procedures and contribute to service governance & development
  • Participate in the 1 in 5 on-call doctors' rota

Requirements:

  • Experienced within a mental health setting
  • Knowledgeable of mental health legislation & codes of practice
  • An excellent clinical decision-maker, with sound judgement & ability to manage risk
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear, comprehensive medical notes
  • Committed to continued professional development
  • Preferably approved under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act & a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent
