NES Fircroft is seeking a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Darlington. As a key member of the project team, you will play a crucial role in mitigating commercial and financial risks on projects, ensuring accurate cost and value forecasting, and driving project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective contract negotiation strategies to minimize risk and ensure favorable payment terms.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify, evaluate, and process variations, ensuring timely and accurate applications for payment.
  • Provide financial awareness and forecasting of project costs, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Represent the company at internal and external meetings, ensuring professional representation and effective communication.
  • Work closely with the project team to achieve budgeted margins and manage project cash flow.
  • Identify opportunities for contract growth and ensure efficient cost management.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, promoting a culture of excellence and compliance.
  • Administer contractual correspondence with clients and subcontractors, maintaining strong relationships and resolving issues promptly.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times, upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Monitor cost trends, identify potential savings, and capitalize on commercial opportunities.
  • Ensure variations are administered in accordance with contract terms.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in the offshore or construction industry.
  • Strong affinity with technical and commercial aspects, with excellent negotiation and networking skills.
  • Contract and legal knowledge, with the ability to switch between detailed reviews and strategic thinking.
  • Prepared to travel, if necessary.
