Basingstoke, Hampshire, United Kingdom Kuehne+Nagel Full time
Job Description:

Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career in the logistics and freight forwarding industry? We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Road Sales team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the best in the business and begin your career in sales.

Your Role:
Our Road Logistics team at Kuehne+Nagel provides hundreds of customers with the services to move their goods across Europe. The sales team works directly to source, engage, and maintain our customer base, ensuring that our customers' shipments are booked in efficiently and delivered on time. We work with a diverse customer base – you could find yourself shipping goods to various destinations across Europe. Every day is different, and this role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your sales skills, expand your professional network, and contribute to the company's growth strategy.

Your Responsibilities:
Our 24-month Apprenticeship programme is designed to provide you with the perfect blend of practical on-the-job training and study towards the Sales Level 4 Apprenticeship standard. You will work within a successful Sales team while learning everything you need to know to be a top sales performer, supported by your peers, your managers, and the apprenticeship team within Kuehne+Nagel.

During the first part of your apprenticeship, you will focus on getting to grips with delivering excellent customer service. In the second part, you will build on this foundation to develop specialist Sales skills – you may even be given your own customer service or sales account to manage. Beyond this, there is an opportunity for successful apprentices to secure a full-time sales position, as well as achieving bonuses and pay rises connected to the apprenticeship programme.

Key Responsibilities:
Efficiently process bookings from clients and overseas agents onto our system.
Provide operational support for the Sales Managers when required.
Liaise with all relevant parties throughout the shipment to organise the movement of goods by providing exceptional customer service, ensuring their satisfaction and retention.
Deal with any issues that may arise during a shipment and ensure the client and/or Sales Manager is updated.
Process sales and purchase invoices of the branch.
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in meetings and training sessions.
Make sales calls, engage, and onboard new customers.
Analyse sales performance statistics and prepare/deliver customer review meetings.

Requirements:
The minimum entry requirement for this apprenticeship is five GCSEs at grades 3 – 9 / A*-D, including Maths & English. Our company values candidates who are passionate about providing excellent customer service, have a strong work ethic, and are able to communicate effectively with others. Good planning and organisation skills are important, and you will need the ability to multitask and be a self-starter. Previous use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel is beneficial. Please be aware that this vacancy does not meet the minimum requirements for visa sponsorship and for apprenticeship funding, candidates must have been resident in the EEA for at least the last 3 years. This is an entry-level training position. If you are already qualified or experienced in this area of work, this is unlikely to be the position for you. However, we would welcome your application for one of our other vacancies which can be found on our website.
