Cardiac Catheter Lab Nurse

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team in the cardiac catheter labs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the expansion of our service, working closely with our current nursing management to progress the development of the catheter labs.
Main Responsibilities:- Support the expansion of the cardiac catheter lab service, working closely with the current nursing management team.
- Provide training and development opportunities for junior members of the team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Work on a rotational basis as the nurse in charge for the catheter labs, ensuring the smooth running of the service and providing leadership and guidance to the team.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with best practice and meet the needs of our patients.
- Attend relevant regional and national meetings, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in cardiac catheterization and sharing best practice with the team.
- Experience as a catheter lab nurse, with a strong understanding of the procedures and protocols involved.
- Proven ability to mentor and train junior staff, with a focus on developing their skills and knowledge.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the service.
