About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate District Nurse/Community Nursing Sister to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a key member of our community nursing team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and promoting health and wellbeing in our local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to patients in their own homes, community settings, and in our clinics.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Conduct assessments, identify needs, and provide interventions to promote health and wellbeing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and carers to ensure person-centred care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
Requirements
- Relevant degree or diploma in professional practice area (e.g., occupational therapy, nursing, social work, psychology).
- Professional registration (e.g., NMC/HPC) and membership of a professional body.
- Post-qualifying experience in mental health, with a focus on community nursing.
- Experience of teaching, training, and leading on recovery-focused projects.
- Specialist knowledge of current best practices in recovery.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of working in a recovery college or education centre.
- Previous experience of working in partnership with other organisations and using co-production principles.
Personal Qualities and Attributes
- Ability to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and kindness in challenging situations.
- Ability to work in a team and value lived experience expertise alongside clinical expertise.
