Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is a leading provider of healthcare services in Wales, seeking an experienced Healthcare Specialist to join our team. This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate taking on a key role within our Continuing Healthcare (CHC) service, working closely with occupational therapy and other staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a specialist in occupational therapy, you will be responsible for providing clinical expertise and professional support to colleagues, conducting joint assessments, and developing practice within the CHC service.
Key responsibilities include guiding practitioners working with adults with CHC needs, improving OT practice quality, undertaking 'one-off' assessments, and demonstrating advanced knowledge relevant to OT practice in CHC. You will also be required to move and handle patients with complex physical problems, assess and prescribe equipment, and plan, organize, and evaluate the occupational therapy service within CHC.
A strong understanding of legislation, professional assessments, and interventions relevant to OT and CHC is essential, as is knowledge of current health and social care policy. The ability to carry out full range of duties, including travel between hospital and community sites, is also crucial.
