Responsibilities involved in the Senior Litigation Lawyer role

  • Handle a mixed caseload of Criminal and Civil Litigation matters from start to completion.
  • Manage a litigation legal team and provide support whenever necessary.
  • Provide expert legal counsel to the council and its departments on litigation risk, strategies, and decision-making.
  • Prepare cases and represent the council in courts and tribunals, ensuring well-prepared, effective advocacy.

Requirements

  • A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with Criminal and Civil Litigation experience.
  • Someone who has worked for a Local Authority within a litigation legal team.
  • Someone who can attend the county hall once a week.
  • Ideally someone with management experience.
