RF Test Solutions Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled RF Test Solutions Engineer to join our engineering team at Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology. As a key player in our team, you will be responsible for providing practical, hands-on experience in examining new modules and leading the definition of test procedures for both integrated machinery and upstream testing for module outsourcing.
Key Responsibilities:
- First line diagnosis of all production and field issues associated with RF and test procedures to determine root cause and practical solution.
- Train and certify Test Engineers in the correct use of test documents, procedures and equipment.
- Support our test document author for content and expertise by defining, implementing, and maintaining test schedules and methods.
- Produce and end to end manufacture simple control systems (including software) for ATE equipment.
- Manage commissioning of ATE (automatic test equipment), ensuring compatibility with legacy products where practical.
- Analyse failure reports from the field and final test and modify test points in order to avoid repeat occurrences.
- Contribute to manufacturing plan and outsourcing strategy as part of the manufacturing engineering team.
- Implement robust cost effective test solutions throughout the supply chain (tier 2 to Customer sign off) for existing and new products.
- Practical testing of first article components, working with NPI teams and engineering to ensure critical product features requiring test are defined and accompanied with test specifications.
- Undertake practical studies for OEM and module performance comparisons (for obsolescence, accelerated lifetime testing, etc).
- Ensure all test manufacturing data is archived and kept up to date. Use this to inform our predictive diagnostics capabilities and products, tool to tool performance analysis and tool lifetime performance characteristics.
- Provide consultative RF design advice for engineering design and project teams.
Requirements:
- At least HNC or equivalent engineering or professional qualification. Degree level qualification preferred.
- High level of High frequency RF matching & signal processing up to 8KW.
- High level of electronics knowledge.
- Effective communication skills.
- HNC in Electronics or higher.
- Programming/software experience
