Belfast, United Kingdom BT Full time
BT is at the forefront of the information age, operating in 180 countries with a diverse workforce of 90,000 people. As a key player in British society, we foster change and lead technology innovation. Our goal is to help customers, communities, and businesses overcome barriers and release their potential.

We're undergoing one of the biggest digital transformations, aiming to become a modern technology company. To achieve this, we're seeking passionate and capable software engineers who think creatively, thrive on problem-solving, and are familiar with cutting-edge technologies. Our teams work as agile squads, building and running applications that bill, invoice, and collect payments for our customer-facing businesses.

Most of our applications currently run on Oracle databases, using Java, PLSQL, and SQL. However, as part of our transformation, we're developing new services in Java and Python, making our applications suitable for the public cloud and leveraging cloud data capabilities for data reporting, analytics, and AI.

As a member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in this digital transformation by driving automation and cloud readiness, reviewing data, solving complex problems, and creating data solutions. You'll collaborate with other engineering leaders to contribute to company-wide engineering best practices and standards. Additionally, you'll provide technical knowledge to consult on significant components of a solution and take responsibility for software deliverables.

This role requires a skilled software engineer with up-to-date skills, a passion for high-quality, secure, and performant software, and experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data technologies, and strongly typed languages like Go or Python. Proficiency in AWS, SQL, and agile ways of working is also essential. If you're a good communicator who can advise technical and non-technical stakeholders, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

The estimated salary for this position is £70,000 - £100,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave, 10% on-target bonus, life assurance, pension scheme, option to join the healthcare cash plan, and exclusive colleague discounts on BT broadband packages and mobile plans.
