Fibre and Copper Systems Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fibre and Copper Systems Engineer to join our Enterprise operational team at North. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and installing critical facilities infrastructure, including fibre and copper cabling systems, in our data centres.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of fibre cabling systems, including splicing, terminating, and labelling fibre cables within fibre panels and fibre boxes.
  • Installation of structured cabling systems, including Cat6 UTP/STP and Cat6A UTP/STP, within data centres and similar environments.
  • Installation of floor-mounted communication cabinets and server racks within data centres, as well as ICT blanking and cable management tasks for hot and cold aisle containment operations.
  • Add, Moves, and Changes – Perform cable moves and changes to existing systems as required, patching out data and server cabinets as per client spreadsheets and cabinet layouts.

About You

  • You will have a strong background in fibre and copper cabling systems, with experience in installation, termination, and testing.
  • You will be able to work safely and follow Health and Safety requirements and regulations at all times.
  • You will have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to provide clear and concise documentation and reports.
  • You will be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach to working.
  • You will have a customer-focused approach and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
