We are excited to announce an opening for an experienced Small Animal Surgeon at Hafren Veterinary Group, a friendly, relaxed village veterinary practice in mid Wales. This rewarding position offers a competitive salary of £60,000-£75,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Overview:

Hafren Veterinary Group has been serving the local community for over 120 years, providing a fantastic service to the local communities they serve. They pride themselves on holding practice standard awards in all three species.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing, treating, and performing surgery on small animal patients, as well as providing preventative health and emergency care to equine and farm animal patients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with a dedicated team of vets, nurses, and support staff to provide high-quality care to a wide range of animals.

  • Perform comprehensive examinations on animals to assess their health status.
  • Diagnose and treat medical conditions and injuries.
  • Conduct surgical procedures.
  • Work an out-of-hours emergency 1:5 weeknight and weekend rota.
  • Communicate effectively with animal owners about diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-operative care.
  • Lead and mentor junior veterinary staff in practice.

Requirements include being a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, having excellent communication skills, and demonstrating compassion for animals.
