We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Pupil Support Assistant. This role involves working under the direction of a class teacher or senior staff member to provide support to children and young people who require additional assistance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing individual or group support to pupils in identified areas of learning and personal development.
- Contributing to the planning and review process for individual pupils.
- Supervising the self-administration of medication and providing personal care to enable pupils to function to their full potential.
- Implementing support programmes designed by visiting specialists, such as speech and language programmes.
- Supporting pupil mobility on an emergency or short-term basis.
Qualification, Registration and Skill Requirements
Applicants must have good interpersonal skills and experience of supporting young people with additional needs. A qualification in Early Education and Childcare or a related field is desirable. The successful candidate will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within six months of taking up employment and complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the registration period.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
