We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Professional to join our team at Macklin Care Homes. As an Activities Therapist, you will play a vital role in creating a stimulating and engaging activity program for our residents.
About the Role
As an Activities Therapist, you will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality, person-centred activities and social events for our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to plan and implement a range of activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a variety of activities, including group events, one-to-one sessions, and special events.
- Work collaboratively with our care team to ensure that activities are tailored to meet the needs of our residents.
- Develop and maintain relationships with residents, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met.
- Contribute to the development of our activity program, including identifying new ideas and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, including attendance, feedback, and evaluation.
Requirements
- Relevant vocational qualifications (achieved or working towards).
- Experience of working with elderly residents suffering from dementia.
- Knowledge of Care of the Elderly Patients Charter of Rights.
- Ability to work set hours, flexible to meet the needs of the organisation.
- Excellent communication skills, specifically with the elderly.
- Team player who can demonstrate a caring nature.
