Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at GSL Education. The successful candidate will provide specialised support to students with complex needs related to Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour, ensuring their individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) are effectively implemented.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the diverse needs associated with Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour, and be able to adapt teaching methods to meet the unique requirements of individual students. They will also be patient and understanding, with a proactive and open mindset when working in a multidisciplinary team.

The role offers immense satisfaction in contributing to the growth and development of students facing complex hurdles, particularly in the areas of Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour. The school setting encourages a deviation across the curriculum, including more outdoor education opportunities tailored to address students' diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialised support to students with complex needs related to Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive and engaging curriculum that addresses the specific challenges associated with Mental Health, Anxiety, and Behaviour.
  • Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment to promote social, emotional, and mental well-being.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
